These workshops is being designed to cover the range of drought monitoring, assessment, prediction, and early warning issues relevant to international collaboration on a global, regional and bi-national scale. It will consist of a series of sessions and concurrent workshops which address:
Biennial North American Drought Monitor Forum - technical and administrative issues specific to the NADM;
NADM activities in the context of broader international drought monitoring and assessment activities;
A review of international regional drought monitoring and collaboration activities;
The development of bilateral US - Canada testbed projects and drought study initiatives;
Discussion of international regional early warning systems, both existing and prototype testbeds; and
Establishment of an international drought clearinghouse and the establishment of the web services infrastructure for a global drought monitoring effort.
Attendance will be limited to 50 seats on a first come, first served basis.
