Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E) mission is to provide 21st Century water cycle science, technology and outreach to support effective policies and practices that address the impacts of extreme weather and water events on the environment, people and the economy of Western North America.

CW3E observation and forecast datasets include integrated water transport, integrated water vapor, precipitation, snow, temperature, winds and height, isotherm, meteograms, and virtual RASS.

CW3E Observations: CW3E datasets include integrated water transport, integrated water vapor, precipitation, snow, temperature, winds and height, isotherm, meteograms, and virtual RASS.

CW3E Forecasts: This page contains graphics designed to forecast the presence and strength of Atmospheric Rivers using data from the NCEP Global Forecast System (GFS), North American Mesoscale Forecast System (NAM), and Global Ensemble Forecast System (GEFS) models. 

CW3E West Coast Freezing Level Forecasts: GEFS forecasts to show the probabilities for the western states’ watershed of the freezing level being above or below the terrain height.
