Winter Season Outlook and Impacts Forum for Agriculture in the Lower Rio Grande Valley - Dec. 7

Producers and other agricultural professionals gathered for a one-day workshop on the upcoming winter season, potential impacts on agriculture in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, and the tools, grants, and local and regional resources that are available. Workshop topics included short- and medium-range weather forecasts, historical climate trends, local monitoring activities including the TexMesonet, drought tools and early warning resources, and updates on agricultural water conservation projects and grants.
Organizers included the Texas Water Development Board, Texas A&M University-Kingsville Citrus Center, National Drought Mitigation Center, Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program, USDA Southern Plains Climate Hub, and NIDIS.
