Event Date & Time

Friday, July 7, 2017 - 2:00am

This drought webinar focused on the Northern Plains, specifically North and South Dakota and Montana. Laura Edwards, South Dakota State Climatologist summarized current conditions, the drought status and discussed the outlook for the next few weeks and months. Ryan Buetow from North Dakota Extension (NDSU) discussed the ongoing and potential future impacts from the drought conditions.  In addition, he discussed some impacts from an unusual freeze/frost event that added insult to injury in some of the same areas.

The focus area included areas with moderate (D1 level) drought or worse, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor for July 4, 2017.
