South Texas Drought Status and Outlook

Southern Texas has been in Exceptional Drought (D4) since October.
Winter rainfall was strongly influenced by a strong La Niña pattern, which was manifest by very low precipitation.

The South Texas Drought of Winter/Spring 2019–2020 2020–2021

Drought patterns are similar to the 2019-2020 drought.
Began in October and worsened through winter and spring.
Forecasts show possible rain for drought affected southern Texas for mid-to-late May.
