Quarterly Climate Impacts and Outlook for the Southern Region for March–May 2026. Dated June 2026.

Spring temperatures were well above normal across the northern half of the region, with most stations running 2–8 °F above normal. Across the southern half of the region temperatures were more moderate with most stations reporting normal to 2 °F above normal temperatures for spring. Precipitation was well above normal at most stations in South Texas and along the Gulf Coast of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, with many stations reporting 150% of normal precipitation or higher.
