Kentucky Drought Early Warning and Preparedness Project

NIDIS Supported Research
NIDIS-Supported Research
Main Summary

Working within the framework of the Kentucky Drought Mitigation and Response Plan and reflecting experiences from the Drought of 2012 and other past droughts, this project aims to improve drought early warning, preparedness, and coordination across the state of Kentucky. This project will enhance the capability for linking drought indicators and emerging impacts down to the local scale and will strengthen messaging and communication, providing more detailed and targeted information to managers, decision makers, and the general public during periods of evolving drought in Kentucky.
