Document Description

Quarterly Climate Impacts and Outlook for the Mid-Atlantic Region for March–May 2026. Dated June 2026.

Average temperatures for the 2026 spring season were above normal (2–6 degrees) across the region, but several large temperature swings occurred as fronts passed through the region, sometimes going from record high temperatures to record low temperatures. Precipitation conditions varied across the Mid-Atlantic, with the northern portion of the region seeing above normal precipitation and the southern portions seeing below normal precipitation.

NOAA’s Mid-Atlantic CAP Team (MARISA) created this outlook in partnership with NOAA’s Regional Climate Services Program to inform the public about recent climate impacts within their respective regions. Each regional report contains easy-to-understand language, and anyone can access them through the U.S. Drought Portal
