Quarterly Climate Impacts and Outlook for the Missouri River Basin for June–August 2026. Dated September 2026.
Warmer than normal temperatures continued into the summer months, with the Basin ranking 10th warmest. Drought conditions are much worse this year due to the dryness this summer.
NOAA’s Regional Climate Services Program creates these climate outlooks to inform the public about recent climate impacts within their respective regions. Each regional report contains easy-to-understand language, and anyone can access them through the U.S. Drought Portal.
