June Southern Plains Drought Webinar
Drought conditions continue across the Southern Plains. Recent rain in the east has eased drought conditions there, but the high plains of West Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas continue to see conditions deteriorate even before the summer begins. This webinar will provide an overview of current and forecast drought conditions for Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
When drought hits, knowing which drought indicators are most relevant for specific regions and seasons can simplify the drought monitoring process. This webinar also will share key takeaways from a NIDIS-funded, NASA-led research project analyzing drought indicator relevance by region and season with a focus on the indicators that are most relevant for the Southern Plains.
This webinar will be recorded.
Presentations:
- Current Drought Conditions: Mac Morris, NOAA/National Weather Service
