Soil Moisture Seminar Series: Soil Moisture Utility for Monitoring Wildfire Behavior and Impacts
This National Coordinated Soil Moisture Monitoring Network (NCSMMN) Virtual Seminar will provide insight into the complex relationship between soil moisture and wildfire. Dr. Zachary Holden of the U.S. Forest Service will present on the potential of using soil moisture-related variables to improve predictions of wildfire spread and growth in the Northern Rocky Mountains. Dr. Brian Ebel will present on how soil moisture data can be used to track fire recovery and hydrologic response on the landscape, post-wildfire. Presentations will be followed by time for Q&A and discussion.
This event is part of a virtual soil moisture seminar series hosted by the National Coordinated Soil Moisture Monitoring Network. This seminar will be recorded and available here.
Presenters
