Wyoming Conditions and Outlooks Webinar
The Wyoming Conditions & Monitoring Team (WCMT) and partners hosted the Wyoming Conditions & Outlooks public webinar on Thursday, August 18 from 1–2 p.m. MT. The webinar began with a 45-minute presentation by several climate, water, weather, and wildland fire experts, followed by a Q&A session.
Presenters outlined current conditions throughout Wyoming, such as soil moisture, streamflows, and reservoir levels, to help participants understand why the U.S. Drought Monitor currently appears the way it does. A team member with the State Engineer's Office then provided an update about water calls throughout the state, and a wildland fire outlook was presented. The National Weather Service also provided a more near-term forecast.
